About The Artist:

Laura studied painting at Goucher College in Baltimore and at the Glasgow school of Art in Scotland and has been living and showing in Boulder for five years.

These paintings are meant to invoke the plains and the enormity of the storms that cross them using vibrant color and layering of thick and thin paint. Growing up in southwest Ohio has influenced Laura's interest in these storms, she has been absorbed with visible weather most of her life.

The "inside" paintings, the bed and the clothing, are also about color and light but in a different format. The bed painting is a sort of landscape while the clothing present an opportunity to the viewer to interact with the idea of figurative painting.
